Nebbi’s Goli Health Centre IV wins quality services Award 2024
Nebbi: Goli Health Centre IV, a pivotal healthcare provider under the Nebbi Diocese Church of Uganda, has been recognized for its exceptional service delivery with the prestigious Quality Services Award for 2024.
The accolade was conferred on December 5, 2024, in Kampala by the Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB), a national coordinating body for over 330 Protestant health institutions in Uganda.
The award was received by Dr. Jetho Okoni, the In-Charge of Goli Health Centre IV, during a ceremony held in the capital. This recognition serves as a testament to the center’s unwavering commitment to improving healthcare access and quality for the local communities it serves.
The facility, strategically located in Nebbi district, is often the first point of contact for medical emergencies in the region. Its services are a lifeline to communities in Nebbi, Zombo, and even across the border in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
Rev. Can. Ungi Christopher, the Diocesan Secretary for Nebbi Diocese, expressed gratitude for the award, emphasizing the recent strides in service delivery at the health center. “This recognition is a reflection of the tireless efforts of our staff, who work round the clock to ensure quality care for all,” he noted.
The retired Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr. Henry Luke Orombi, also lauded the achievement, stating, “We are excited to hear good things coming out of our own health centre. There are many under UMPB, yet we have been recognized. Keep it up.”
Goli Health Centre IV, established over five decades ago as a Private Not-For-Profit entity under the UPMB, has consistently expanded its reach and impact. Founded in 1957, the UPMB bridges healthcare institutions with the government and international donors, fostering a robust healthcare system rooted in faith-based service.
This award is not just a milestone for the center but a beacon of hope for the many lives it touches, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of health and well-being in the region.
