Namisindwa LCV-elect pledges to streamline systems, prioritize career growth

Namisindwa: The Namisindwa District LCV Chairperson-elect, Bwayo Emma, has pledged to streamline administrative systems and prioritize career growth for district staff as part of efforts to restore the district’s image.

Bwayo was declared winner of the Thursday, January 22, 2026 election after securing 37,170 votes, defeating the incumbent chairperson, Jackson Wakweika, who garnered 21,619 votes.

In an exclusive interview with UG Reports, Bwayo noted that Namisindwa District has for a long time been grappling with challenges such as corruption and stagnation within the public service. He said his first priority will be to build strong systems that function effectively and serve the people.

He called for full support from all voters, noting that the reform process may be uncomfortable for some individuals. “The process will involve hurting people, but systems must be streamlined without fear or favour,” Bwayo said, emphasizing the need to place the right people in the right offices based on merit.

Bwayo further pledged to prioritize career growth by ensuring staff promotions are handled fairly and that employees are provided with a conducive working environment to enable better service delivery.

He also assured residents that his leadership will be open, available, and accountable to the people of Namisindwa District.

Bwayo Emma is expected to be sworn in on 24th May 2026.
