Mourner dies, several injured in Kagadi road accident

Kagadi: Police in Kagadi district are investigating circumstances under which a mourner died in a motor crash.
The deceased and other 25 mourners, all residents of Nyamugusa village, Kabasekende sub-county Kibaale district, were going for burial in Galiraya cell, Mpeefu ya Sande town council.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at around 1:00 p.m. along Pio Road in Namilyango Cell, Kagadi Town Council, Kagadi District, where a driver of a vehicle with a Suzuki type registration number UAV 412P got mechanical problems and overturned, leaving dozens of mourners critically injured.
According to the survivor, Mrs. Tukamuhabwa Night, one called Omulongo Wasswa died on the spot, and over 25 other people got serious injuries.

By the press time, police were at the crime scene, and casualties were rushed to Kagadi Hospital for medication. However, our reporter’s efforts to get a comment from the police went fruitless.
