Kitgum: Hon. Dr. Aber Lillian, the Kitgum District Woman MP and State Minister of Relief, Disaster Preparedness, and Refugees in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), has officially announced her intention to seek re-election in the 2026 general elections.
The announcement was made recently during a meeting with six Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) groups at Pudo Center, Mucwini West Subcounty, Kitgum District.
Hon. Aber expressed her commitment to serving the people of Kitgum, emphasizing her focus on service delivery and development initiatives.
She urged voters to carefully evaluate candidates based on their performance and contributions in government.
Hon. Aber highlighted her dedication to her ministerial duties and assured supporters that she would prioritize her political campaign at the right time.
In the 2021 elections, Hon. Aber secured a landslide victory on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket with 41,192 votes. Her competitors, Roselyn Alanyo Olobo of the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) and independent candidate Norah Adokorach Odur, received 7,680 and 3,624 votes, respectively.
The announcement, made during her interaction with grassroots groups like the VSLA, reflects her hands-on approach to understanding and addressing community needs.
