Masindi woman who faked miscarriage, delivered empty coffins remanded
Investigations revealed that the miscarriage had been fabricated in an attempt to extort money.

Masindi: Jennifer Nyakato, a 35-year-old resident of Bigando Cell in Masindi District, has been remanded to Masindi Government Prison for allegedly faking a miscarriage involving twins.
According to Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, Nyakato was arrested on Sunday, April 13, 2025. She reportedly contacted her former partner and requested 200,000 Ugandan shillings, claiming she needed the money to transport the remains of their supposed twins.
Investigations revealed that the miscarriage had been fabricated in an attempt to extort money.
In response, Hakiza urged women to avoid such deceptive actions and instead focus on finding legitimate employment to support themselves financially.
