Masindi high court sets date for ruling on defilement case against head teacher
He further stated that his wife advised him to let the victim stay at their home for the night, as it was too late to return her to school.

Masindi: Masindi High Court has set April 23, 2025, for delivering its judgment in the aggravated defilement case against Hosea Kiiza, the former head teacher of St. Kizito Muuro Primary School in Bujenje County, Masindi District.
The case stems from accusations filed in 2022, in which Kiiza is alleged to have defiled two girls, aged 15 and 14, both from the same school, within the same year.
Though the court recently dismissed one case involving the 14-year-old after witnesses failed to appear, Kiiza is still facing charges in the remaining case.
Last week, two key witnesses, including the former School Matron, Ms. Judith Nyandera, and the Senior Woman Teacher, testified about an incident during the second term of 2022, when Kiiza allegedly drove one of the victims off the school premises.
The School Matron stated that she saw the victim return to school the following morning, and shortly afterward, received a call from Kiiza inquiring whether the victim had safely arrived.
The victim (whose name is withheld) also accused Kiiza of soliciting her for sexual acts when she was 15 years old.
In his defense, Kiiza denied the accusations, claiming they were fabricated. He explained that on Friday, June 11, 2022, around 5:00 PM, he had taken the victim to Kinenabuhere Trading Center to be measured for a school uniform by a tailor.
He further stated that his wife advised him to let the victim stay at their home for the night, as it was too late to return her to school.
Kiiza’s 12-year-old son also testified, stating that he slept in the same room as the victim that night, and nothing unusual occurred.
Justice Isah Sserunkuma, the trial judge, directed the parties to submit their defense by March 28, 2025, and the ruling will be delivered on April 23, 2025. He also extended Kiiza;s bail.
