Man crashes to death on polling day in Masindi
Another eyewitness, who declined to be identified by press time, called for quicker intervention by police at accident scenes.

Masindi: Police in Masindi District have launched investigations into a fatal road accident that claimed the life of a man along the Masindi–Kafu Road on polling day.
The accident occurred on Thursday morning at around 7:00 a.m. at Kirasa Trading Centre.
The deceased has been identified as Mukuza Muhamad, a resident of Kihamya Cell in Kigulya Division, Masindi Municipality. He was riding a motorcycle registration number UDY 123W when it was involved in a head-on collision with a vehicle registration number UBD 409Y.
According to an eyewitness, Steven Tumwine, the deceased was traveling from the Kafu side towards Masindi town when the motorcycle collided head-on with the oncoming vehicle, leaving him critically injured.
Another eyewitness, Gerald Atugonza, blamed the motorcycle rider, saying he allegedly negotiated a corner on the road without waiting for the vehicle to pass.
Pascal Talemwa, also an eyewitness, said the victim sustained critical injuries and it was difficult to determine whether he died on the spot or while being rushed to hospital, though he appeared lifeless.

When contacted, Solomon Mugisa, the Albertine North Regional Community Liaison Officer (CLO) and Acting Regional Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident and said investigations had commenced.
Mugisa said the body of the deceased was taken to Masindi Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem, while both the vehicle and the motorcycle were towed to Masindi Central Police Station (CPS) for inspection.
He appealed to drivers and motorcycle riders to exercise caution and avoid overspeeding, especially during election periods.
