Kubusinge declares bid for Masindi district speakership
“I am the most suitable councillor for the post because of the vast experience I have and my academic qualifications,” she said.
Masindi: Brenda Kobusinge, the female councillor-elect for Kigulya Division in Masindi District, has joined the race for the Masindi District Council Speakership for the 2026–2031 political term.
Kobusinge made the declaration on Monday during a press conference held at Kolping Hotel in Masindi. Justifying her decision to join the male-dominated race, she described herself as the most suitable councillor for the position due to her vast experience and academic qualifications.
“I am the most suitable councillor for the post because of the vast experience I have and my academic qualifications,” she said.
Kobusinge, who won the election on the NRM party ticket, noted that her key priorities, if elected speaker, will include bridging the gap between the political and technical wings of the district, promoting freedom of speech and expression among councillors, and fostering unity and discipline for effective service delivery.
