Kitgum Municipality receives motorcycles to enhance revenue mobilization
The Kitgum Municipal Council approved the USMID-AF Phase II project on March 6, 2024, with a budget of 5,622,938,944 shillings.
Kitgum: China Railway 7 Group has donated two motorcycles to Kitgum Municipality, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency in the Revenue Mobilization and Lands Departments.
The Town Clerk, Mr. Sebadduka Uthman, officiated the handover at the Municipality headquarters, with Mr. Opoka Darwin receiving one motorcycle for the Revenue Mobilization Department and Mr. Okot Donasiano taking possession of the other for the Lands Department.
Deputy Mayor Hon. Kidega Patrick Paul noted that this donation is part of the procurement obligations linked to the USMID-AF project, which focuses on upgrading roads in the Lulojo area.
He highlighted that the project has also secured 146 streetlights currently in Gulu City, with plans to install 41 in the project area and 105 in other parts of the municipality.

This comprehensive project encompasses road works, including improvements on Lagoro A and Lamola A roads, as well as the Omony Ogaba B road, along with other essential components such as utility relocations and the procurement of 206 solar street lights.
