Kitgum Municipality hands over school construction projects to contractors

Contractors have been asked to prioritize pupil safety, site security, and to provide monthly progress reports throughout the construction period.

Kitgum: The leadership of Kitgum Municipality officially handed over construction sites for new classroom blocks at Kitgum Demonstration Primary School and Ojuma Primary School to contractors recently.

Angee Sarah, the Municipality Communication Officer, stated that Demma Inland Limited was awarded the contract for maintenance works on a block of four classrooms at Kitgum Demonstration Primary School at a cost of UGX 56.3 million, with completion expected in two months.

Meanwhile, Olgen SMC Limited is tasked with completing one block of four classrooms at Ojuma Primary School at a cost of UGX 58 million, expected to be finalized by May 2025.

The Municipal Engineer outlined the scope of works during the handover, urging strict adherence to construction standards.

The Municipal Education Officer confirmed that 100% of the project funds are available and will be disbursed upon satisfactory completion.
