Kikuube man killed in suspected love triangle, family revenges
The relatives of the deceased came and destroyed a number of property.
Kikuube: Police in Kikuube are holding six suspects to aid the investigation into the murder of one Apollo Tumwesigye.
The deceased was a resident of Kalele village, Kaseeta Parish, in Kabwoya subcounty, Kikuube district.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, told journalists on Monday, July 15, 2024, that Tumwesigye had long-standing domestic issues with his wife, Peace Tumushabe.
Tumwesigye accused the wife of having extramarital affairs with Mubarak Kabagambe, the secretary for defense in Kabegaramire village.
Hakiza says it’s alleged that Tumushabe has a one-year-old baby boy with Mubarak, and on July 13, 2024, at night, the friends of Kabagambe, identified as Mubarak Rumahe and Jonathan Kamugisha, were seen with the deceased behind the deceased’s residence as his wife was selling alcohol.
He adds that in the morning of Sunday, July 14, 2024, the body of the deceased was recovered at around 7:00 a.m., about 200 meters from his residence, with multiple injuries to the head, back, and chest.
Hakiza says the relatives of the deceased came and destroyed a number of property and wanted to attack the suspects where they were detained, but police also arrested them.
