Kibaale: Three health workers from Maisuka Health Centre III in Kyakazihire Sub County, Kibaale District, have been arrested and detained at Kibaale Police Station for allegedly misusing government property.

The accused include Gregory Kiiza, a nurse operating a drug shop in Kyakazihire Trading Centre, along with Agatha Kabonesa and Kugonza Kisembo, both health workers at the health center.

The arrests followed a police operation on Friday, initiated after Moses Bwambale, the in-charge of Maisuka Health Centre III, reported missing drugs to Kibaale Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) John Katontooroma.

Joseph Ayesiga, Officer in Charge of Kibaale Police Station, stated that the investigation revealed Gregory Kiiza was operating with an expired license and engaging in unauthorized activities, including providing beds for patients and selling government drugs.

Authorities also recovered several items, including HIV kits, delivery equipment, Ministry of Health registers, and a blood pressure testing machine.

Ayesiga emphasized the importance of community vigilance, urging the public to report any instances of misuse of government property.
