Kagadi man killed in love triangle, two arrested

Efforts are on to look for Monday and will also be charged with murder.

Kagadi: Police in Kagadi district are holding two suspects over the alleged murder of Becker Bwambale, a male adult aged 25 and a resident of Lyabaranga B LC1 Lyabaranga parish in Mpefu Sub County.

The suspects are Grace Kyomuhendo, the bar owner in Kobushera Trading Center, and Oliver Kembabazi, a waitress in the same bar.

Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region police mouthpiece, disclosed that it was alleged that on June 18, 2024, at around 22:00 hours, Bwambale was in a bar in the Kobushera trading center, and he fell in love with Oliver Kembabazi, a waitress in the bar.

Hakiza explained that one Monday, someone who was also in the same bar attacked the deceased and started assaulting him since he was also interested in the waitress; thus, the bar owner and the waitress joined him to assault the deceased.

He says the victim went home that night and informed his relatives about the assault and that he was feeling pain in the lower abdomen. He was taken to a nearby clinic, where he was later referred to a general hospital.

Hakiza adds that on the 19th, after the relatives saw that the illness was increasing, they reported a case of assault at the Kobushera police post. A few hours later, the victim died, thus upgrading the case from assault to murder.

Efforts are on to look for Monday and will also be charged with murder.
