Kabalega SS wins USSSA Masindi District Championship, Rev. Jabuloni Isoke Memorial College Dominates Kitgum
The Acholi Regional Post Primary School Football Competition is scheduled to begin on April 14, 2025, in Nwoya District.

Masindi: Kabalega Secondary School emerged victorious in the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) tournament for Masindi District after defeating Masindi SS 1-0 in the final held on Monday.
In the third-place playoff, Greenfield SS secured victory over Masindi Army SS in a penalty shootout, winning 4-3.
Meanwhile, in the girls’ category, Masindi Army SSS was crowned champions after a 2-0 win against Masindi SS.
While handing over the trophy and medals at Masindi Stadium, Adolf Kato, the district senior education officer, urged the qualifying schools to uphold discipline and represent the district well at the regional level.
According to Joseph Rukundo, the USSSA Masindi District Chairperson, two teams, Kabalega SS and Masindi SS have secured spots in the regional tournament. However, if a third slot becomes available, Greenfield SS will be considered.
The regional games are set to commence on April 13, 2025, at Duhaga SS in Hoima City.
Meanwhile, Rev. Jabuloni Isoke Memorial College claimed both the boys’ and girls’ titles in the Kitgum Secondary Schools Football Competition.
In the girls’ final, Rev. Jabuloni Isoke Memorial College played to a 1-1 draw against YY Okot Memorial College but emerged victorious in the penalty shootout.
For the boys, Rev. Jabuloni Isoke Memorial College secured a 1-0 win over Kitgum Comprehensive College Pager Campus to claim the championship.
Lakidi Eric, the Headteacher’s representative in the district sports association, acknowledged challenges related to player verification, but noted an improvement in participation. He emphasized that unqualified players were removed to maintain fairness in the competition.
Eric also mentioned that a sanction committee would meet to review incidents from this year’s tournament and implement measures to prevent future irregularities. He urged schools and spectators to follow competition rules for a smooth and peaceful tournament next year.
