Arua: Husmukhbhai Gadder, a 22-year-old Indian national and manager of SAGEMIN Trading Ltd in Arua City, was robbed by two of his employees on February 15, 2025.

Gadder, a resident of Arua Hospital Cell, Bazaar Ward, Central Division, reported the incident to the police, identifying the suspects as Naftali Boniface and Nadayo Godfrey, both Tanzanian nationals. The suspects, who remain at large, were employees of SAGEMIN Trading Ltd’s Arua branch.

According to police preliminary findings, the robbery occurred at around 6:30 PM when the suspects, armed with machetes, switched off the lights, overpowered the victim, tied his arms with a rope, and covered his mouth with cell tape.

They then stole UGX 95 million (approximately $25,000) in cash and gold worth $77,500 before fleeing to an unknown destination.

“The robbers first covered the victim’s mouth with cell tape, tied his hands behind a chair with ropes, and bound his legs. They then took the stolen items in bags from the office and fled,” a police statement from Asea reads in part.

Gadder managed to hop to the gate despite his restraints, where a passer-by found and rescued him approximately 30 minutes after the assailants had disappeared.
