PDM aims at helping people at the parish level increase their household incomes and join the money economy.

Fort Portal: Hon. Linda Irene Mugisa, the Fort Portal City Woman MP, has emphasized the importance of transparency and commitment in the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM).

During a recent training meeting at Kibimba Mosque, she cautioned against extortion and highlighted the critical role of community members in monitoring and ensuring the program’s success.

Linda applauded community members’ dedication and emphasized the critical role they play in ensuring transparency through the monitoring and implementation of the program.

The legislator emphasized the importance of the PDM, which is aimed at uplifting communities. She highlighted that PDM aimed at integrating 39% of the population into the money economy, demanding commitment and flawless execution.

Dr. Stanley Businge, the Fort Portal City Production Officer and PDM Focal Person, echoed these sentiments, calling for transparency in fund disbursement and urging beneficiaries to be readily available for project monitoring.

He asked the beneficiaries to always be available at any time needed for easy project monitoring.

Additionally, James Winyi, the Kibimba Ward LCII Chairperson, stressed the need for patience and commitment, noting that only 100 households in the ward will benefit from this second phase of the program.

This focus on transparency and community involvement is crucial for the success of the PDM, which aims to integrate 39% of the population into the money economy.

In 2022, President Yoweri Museveni officially launched the Parish Development Model (PDM) at Kibuku Primary School, Kibuku District, Bukedi Sub-region.

PDM aims at helping people at the parish level increase their household incomes and join the money economy.

According to the president, the main focus now is the transformation of the population from the culture of working for only the stomach to working for both the stomach and money.

PDM is designed under seven pillars, which include production, storage, processing, and marketing; infrastructure and economic services; financial inclusion; social services; mindset change; a parish-based management information system; governance; and administration.
