Fishermen drown in Lake Albert, River Nkuse
According to reports, the makeshift boat they were using capsized, resulting in Balikudembe's tragic demise.
Buliisa: The marine police on Lake Albert have retrieved the body of one only identified as Mulefu, who had drowned in Lake Albert along the Butiaba landing site.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, disclosed that on the 19th of this month they received information that the deceased went fishing alone and drowned.
Hakiza says since then the marine police has been looking for the body till yesterday, when the body was retrieved and handed over to the relatives for burial.
In relation to the above, tragedy struck Pachwa town council, Kagadi district, yesterday, as residents retrieved the body of Joseph Balikudembe from the River Nkuse.
The fisherman drowned on Friday last week while fishing with others.

Ndemere Mugisa, LC1 Chairperson for Kamata A Cell, confirmed that experts from Kyangwali sub-county, Kikuube district, retrieved the body.
It was immediately buried yesterday.
Ndemere says the incident serves as a reminder of the risks faced by fishermen and the importance of water safety measures.
