Kampala: The Deputy Secretary for Publicity -Publication, and Documentation for the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Mulindwa Walid Lubega, says they believe they have a competent candidate that will enable the party to win these elections.
He was addressing the media on Monday at their party headquarters in Najjanankumbi.
Week on Wednesday, the FDC Party unveiled Dr. Alwoc Rosemary Ogwal as the prospective FDC Party flagbearer for the impending Dokolo District Woman MP Candidate for the bipartisan elections scheduled for March 21, 2024.
Mulindwa told journalists that this came after an intense internal process to harmonize the candidature of Dr. Alwoc.
Over the weekend, leaders led by Hon. Margaret Wokuri Madanda, the FDC Deputy President, Hon. Attan Moses Okia, the FDC Deputy Treasurer General, Hon. Joan Alobo Achomthe Soroti City Woman MP, Mr. Adepo Francis, the National Youth Leader, and Ms. Amony Alice, the Deputy Secretary for Post-Conflict Management, were joined by the Lango Party leaders led by Dokolo District LCV Chairman, Hon. James Apili Atto, who met with the grassroots leadership of Dokolo District in Dokolo Town Council.
The meeting built harmony with our grassroots leaders in Dokolo, rallying them behind the flagbearer. The leaders also crafted strategies and campaign arrangements to enable the party to secure victory in the impending by-elections.
The leadership also met with opinion leaders in Dokolo, who affirmed their support and are now on the ground to mobilize for Dr. Rosemary Alwoc.
The top leadership of the FDC, led by Party President Hon. Amuriat Oboi, is also reaching out to other opposition stakeholders in a bid to request that they support the FDC candidate.
