He was last seen at his residence on February 23, 2024, in the evening hours with his two friends.
Soroti: The territorial police in the East Kyoga region and Soroti West division are actively investigating the disappearance of an Egyptian national identified as Ahmed Zinhom Ibrahim Selim, aged 32 years.
Mr. Zinhom was a resident of Campswahili Cell A, Campswahili Ward in Soroti City West Division.
The suspected victim was last seen at his residence on February 23, 2024, in the evening hours with his two friends, one identified as Muhammad Nabil Ali, an Egyptian, and his other friend, whose particulars are not yet known.
In a press briefing Sunday evening, Oscar Gerigory Ageca, the East Kyoga regional police spokesperson, said the preliminary findings into the disappearance indicate that on Saturday, February 24, 2024, one Mark Kisolo, an employee of the victim, went to his place but instead got the door padlocked, and a key was placed next to the window, which he used to open the door and found no one.
“A case of disappearance was registered at Soroti City East Division via SD Ref 02/25/02/2024, who also recovered the trouser the victim was dressed in on the night he was last seen,” said Ageca.
Ageca also added that the suspect’s foul play was based on the analysis of the victim’s house by a team of detectives and crime scene officers.
However, police ask the public to avail themselves of any kind of information about Ahmed Zinhom Ibrahim Selim, which is to be provided on toll-free numbers 112 or 999 or brought to East Kyoga regional headquarters.
