Byakutaga urges cultural institutions to safeguard kingdom’s resources
He cautioned that cultural institutions will be held accountable if the kingdom’s resources fail to positively impact the people both in the short and long term.

Hoima: The Prime Minister of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom, Andrew Byakutaga, has emphasized the vital role cultural institutions must play in ensuring that the kingdom’s resources benefit its people.
Byakutaga made these remarks Monday while flagging off officials from Kooki Kingdom and Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom ahead of a two-day tour of various projects within the kingdom.
He cautioned that cultural institutions will be held accountable if the kingdom’s resources fail to positively impact the people both in the short and long term.
Richard Segwanyi, the Speaker of Kooki Kingdom, stated that their visit aims to observe the ongoing oil exploration activities in Bunyoro Kingdom and assess how these efforts will benefit Ugandans.
Sandra Wobusobozi, a representative from the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), which organized the tour, explained that the initiative seeks to update cultural leaders on the progress of oil exploration and guide them on how to prepare their communities to maximize the benefits from the sector.
