Butiaba Red Scorpion Wins 2025 Total Energies Mini League Title

He used the occasion to appeal to Total Energies to consider constructing a stadium that meets FUFA standards.

Buliisa: Butiaba Red Scorpion Football Club has been crowned champion of the 2025 Total Energies Mini League after edging Nyamitete Simba FC 1–0 in a tense final played over the weekend at the Kisiabi Primary School playgrounds in Buliisa Town Council.

The thrilling tournament drew hundreds of football fans who also witnessed an equally competitive women’s final. Inspac FC defeated Inspire Queens FC 3–2 on penalties after a 0–0 draw in normal time.

Both Butiaba Red Scorpion (men) and Inspac FC (women) walked away with trophies, UGX 4 million each, 20 pairs of playing boots, and silver medals.

Runners-up Nyamitete Simba and Inspire Queens each received UGX 2 million, playing boots, medals, and several individual awards recognizing the best players, top scorers, and outstanding officials.

Guest of honour and Buliisa District Sports Officer Godfrey Muhumuza applauded Total Energies for consistently supporting local football and urged the company to extend its sports development initiatives to primary schools.

Buliisa District Football Association chairperson Poel Favour commended the tournament for improving football talent in the area, while regional football official Patrick Kunihira used the occasion to appeal to Total Energies to consider constructing a stadium that meets FUFA standards.

Representing Total Energies EP Uganda, Godfrey Lukwago thanked all 24 teams that participated and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to youth empowerment, education, and talent development through its corporate social responsibility programs.
