Baruli cultural leader visits Masaabaland on invitation of Umukuka III

“As Bamasaaba, we are privileged to receive His Highness the Sebaruli. His visit is a significant cultural moment for us,” Masiga stated.

Mbale: His Royal Highness Mwogezi Butamanya, the Cultural Leader of the Baruli people, is currently in Masaabaland at the invitation of His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma, the Umukuka III of the Bamasaaba people.

The visit was confirmed by Mr. Steven Masiga, spokesperson for Inzu Ya Masaaba, who expressed deep honor in hosting Sebaruli in their midst.

“As Bamasaaba, we are privileged to receive His Highness the Sebaruli. His visit is a significant cultural moment for us,” Masiga stated.

His Highness Mwogezi Butamanya is the outgoing chairman of the Council of Cultural Leaders and Kings in Uganda. With his tenure coming to an end, it is a customary and procedural gesture for him to bid farewell to various cultural institutions across the country, including the Bamasaaba.

“As a community and cultural institution, we are deeply indebted to His Highness for this honorable visit,” Masiga emphasized.

The Baruli Cultural Leader arrived in Bugisu with his delegation and was officially received by Umukuka III Jude Mike Mudoma at Maluku, Mbale City on Sunday.

The event saw attendance from prominent leaders within Masaabaland, including clan chairpersons and Inzu Ya Masaaba ministers.

Among the notable figures present were Mr. Kamoti Wasunguyi, LCV Chairman of Bududa District, representing other district chairpersons, Hon. Moses Kutoi, Inzu Ya Masaaba Minister for Culture and Rev. Titus Kutosi, Inzu Ya Masaaba Minister.
