He encouraged residents from across the Bunyoro region to take advantage of the free services offered at the camp.

Kikuube: Hundreds of people have gathered for a three-day free eye medical camp at Kikoboza Primary School in Buhimba Town Council, Kikuube District.

The camp, which runs until Wednesday, is offering a range of services, including eye screenings, treatments, surgeries, and general consultations.

It aims to assist over 500 patients, with a focus on elderly individuals and young people suffering from various eye complications.

Grace Asiimwe, a mother of 14-year-old Ivan Talemwa, shared her son’s story of eye trouble. Last year, Ivan’s eye was injured during a play, leading to persistent itching and forcing him to drop out of school.

The family had given up on treatment due to the high costs, until they learned about the free medical camp in Kikuube.

Hon. Steven Aseera Rwaitaza, the Buhaguzi East legislator who organized the camp, explained that the initiative is a response to the community’s outcry regarding eye health issues.

He described the camp as a Christmas offer to promote good health and productivity among the people. Hon. Aseera encouraged residents from across the Bunyoro region to take advantage of the free services offered at the camp.
