Lorika bounces back as Bukedea District Police Commander

Lorika, who previously served as Bukedea's DPC from 2016 to 2018, is well-regarded for his proactive approach in tackling criminal activities.

Bukedea: Bukedea District has a new District Police Commander (DPC) following the transfer of Richard Asiimwe, who has served for nearly a year. Asiimwe has been transferred to Lwengo in the same position, and his place has been taken by Emmy Lorika.

This change was confirmed by William Wilberforce Tukei, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Bukedea, who also serves as the district’s security head.

Tukei explained that transfers within the police force are routine, and emphasized the importance of public cooperation with Lorika as he settles into his new role.

Lorika, who previously served as Bukedea’s DPC from 2016 to 2018, is well-regarded for his proactive approach in tackling criminal activities. He became known for his efforts in apprehending thieves and handling high-profile investigative cases during his first tenure.

RDC Tukei urged the community to continue supporting Lorika in his new role, assuring that the transition will be seamless.

“Transfers are normal and I want to urge the public to cooperate with him as he takes on his new office,” said Mr. Tukei.
