Kagadi court remands two over theft

Kagadi: The Kagadi Grade One Magistrate’s Court, presided over by His Worship Edward Kayukyi, has  remanded two individuals to Mambugu Government Prison on charges of theft.

John Byaruhanga, 33, a resident of Kyomukama in Kagadi Town Council, was accused of stealing assorted food items worth 400,000 shillings from Bosco Mubiru in Kijungu Village on August 9, 2024.

Byaruhanga pleaded not guilty and was remanded to Mambugu Prison until October 3, 2024, for further hearings.

Mavin Kusemererwa, 24, a resident of Muhumbu Cell, Mambugu Ward in Kagadi Town Council, was accused of stealing a smartphone worth 400,000 shillings from Altuha Promise in Muhumbu on August 7, 2024.

Kusemererwa also pleaded not guilty and was remanded to Mambugu Prison until October 4, 2024, for further hearings.
