President Museveni in Tanzania for Two-Day Working Visit

Dar Es Salaam: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for a two-day working visit at the invitation of Tanzanian President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, in a visit expected to strengthen bilateral ties and regional cooperation.
President Museveni landed at Julius Nyerere International Airport on Wednesday, where he was received by Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Uganda’s High Commissioner to Tanzania, Col. Fred Mwesigye, and other senior government officials.
Upon arrival, the Ugandan leader inspected a Silent Guard of Honour mounted in his honour before being treated to a cultural dance performance. He was later escorted by Ambassador Kombo to the Presidential Lounge before proceeding to his official residence in Dar es Salaam.
Before departing Uganda, President Museveni was seen off at Entebbe International Airport by Vice President Jessica Alupo, Minister for the Presidency Milly Babirye Babalanda, and the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet, Lucy Nakyobe.
The State House said the visit comes at the invitation of President Samia Suluhu Hassan and is expected to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Uganda and Tanzania.
During the two-day working visit, President Museveni and President Suluhu are expected to hold high-level talks focusing on key issues of mutual interest, including bilateral cooperation, regional integration within the East African Community (EAC), trade and investment, infrastructure development, peace and security, and other areas aimed at deepening the strategic partnership between the two neighbouring countries.
