Minister Byamukama urges religious leaders to embrace four-acre farming model
He said the study tour was insightful and pledged to replicate the knowledge acquired in their various communities.

Kakumiro: The Minister of State for Transport, Fred Byamukama, has urged religious leaders to adopt the four-acre farming model as a pathway to productive and financially sustainable livelihoods.
Byamukama made the call while hosting a delegation of religious leaders from the Kigezi region at his demonstration farm in Kikwaya Village, Kakumiro District.
The delegation, sponsored by President Yoweri Museveni, was led by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa and Bishop Onesmas Asiimwe of North Kigezi Diocese. The team toured the four-acre model farm, which includes poultry keeping, cattle rearing, banana plantations, and coffee production, among other enterprises.
Minister Byamukama explained that the model has enabled him to earn significantly from his farm. He encouraged the visiting leaders to apply the knowledge gained so they can help lift their communities out of poverty.
He further noted that his farm has become a learning centre for residents within and beyond the community, contributing to increased household incomes.
Deputy Speaker Tayebwa applauded the minister for heeding the President’s call to embrace the four-acre income model, describing him as a role model for others to follow.
Meanwhile, Bishop Onesmas Ngoboka of the Pentecostal churches in Kigezi region said the study tour was insightful and pledged to replicate the knowledge acquired in their various communities.
The tour also attracted several political leaders including Kakumiro District LC5 Chairperson Sentayi Joseph, RDC Kibuuka Francis, and other NRM leaders.
