Adjumani: Police have arrested 10 students for vandalizing Komboni Comprehensive Secondary School during a strike that caused extensive damage to school property.

According to North West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson SP Collins Asea, the incident occurred on the evening of 14th November 2025, around 7:00 PM. Police at Adjumani Station received reports that students were on strike, damaging school property, including breaking the perimeter wall fence.

Asea said a team from the Field Force Unit (FFU) and other officers rushed to the scene, but by the time they arrived, the students had fled, leaving behind damaged offices, a destroyed section of the wall, and a burned school generator. The suspects dispersed into nearby villages.

With support from the army, police later tracked down and arrested the 10 students. They are currently being held at Adjumani Central Police Station on charges of property destruction under case reference ADJ CRB.678/2025.

School Head Teacher Yeka George, a 55-year-old Madi tribesman from Mgrere Cell, linked the unrest to a recent crackdown on students breaking school rules, which included confiscation of mobile phones.

The school is now secured by police and military personnel, and detectives continue to investigate the full motives behind the strike. SP Asea assured the public that law enforcement will maintain order and provide updates as the probe continues.
