Former Bugahya County MP Aspirant Amlan Tumusiime battling cancer at Nakasero Hospital

Kampala: Former Bugahya County MP aspirant, Mr. Amlan Tumusiime Amooti, has been admitted to Nakasero Hospital in Kampala, where he has been diagnosed with stage four cancer.
The news was confirmed on Friday morning, September 12, 2025, by his wife, Hon. Achero Paska, the Woman MP for Pader District, during a phone interview.
“My husband is admitted to Nakasero Hospital, but he is not in bad condition, that’s what I can say,” Hon. Paska stated, without providing further details.
“This morning, I visited our brother and former Bugahya Constituency contestant, Hon. Amlan Tumusiime Amooti, who is currently admitted at Nakasero Hospital. He has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and we continue to pray for a miraculous healing,” said Barugahara.
He expressed appreciation to the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, the Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Milly Babalanda, and Tumusiime’s family and friends for their swift support.
Dr. Barugahara highlighted Tumusiime’s contributions to the community, both in public service and civil society.
“Mr. Tumusiime served diligently as the RDC of Kikuube before contesting for Parliament. He now plays key roles as Ambassador of Kitara FC, Patron of the Hoima Boda Boda Association, Hoima Journalists Association, and as Chairperson of the Hoima District Scouts Council.”
He urged members of the public, particularly Banyoro living in the Kampala Metropolitan area, to keep Tumusiime in their thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.
