Karamoja cultural festival opens with colorful celebration

Nakapiripirit: The 10th Annual Karamoja Cultural Festival kicked off today in vibrant style, with colorful performances, traditional dances, and a strong message of unity and cultural pride.
The opening ceremony was officiated by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Nakapiripirit District, Ajilong Bessie Modestar, alongside her deputy, Komakech Stephen.
The two leaders warmly welcomed guests and delegations from across the Karamoja sub-region and beyond.
In her address, RDC Ajilong reaffirmed the district’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment throughout the festival. She emphasized the importance of embracing diversity and promoting harmony among all communities in the region.

Demonstrating her enthusiasm for the occasion, Ajilong joined in the traditional dances and songs, drawing cheers from the crowd as she showcased her appreciation of Karamojong culture.

The event features traditional performances, cultural exhibitions, food showcases, and community dialogues focused on shared values and aspirations.
