Kamoga was caught advising undercover officers, who were posing as potential buyers, to alter the number plate once they had acquired the vehicle.

Hoima: The Uganda Police Flying Squad has successfully apprehended two individuals suspected of being involved in motor vehicle theft in the Albertine region.
The arrest was confirmed by Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, during an interview with journalists on Tuesday.
The first suspect, Fred Kaka, was apprehended in Kaseeta Village, Katanabirwa, Kyankwanzi District, where he was found in possession of a stolen Blue Toyota Raum.
The vehicle belonged to Betty Batayise. Hakiza revealed that Kaka had already tampered with the vehicle’s number plate, changing it from UAP 722Q to UAG 592E.
In a separate operation, the Flying Squad arrested Patrick Kamoga in Kigorobya sub county, Hoima district, also in the Albertine region.
Kamoga had been attempting to sell a stolen army green Toyota Spacio with the registration number UAR 209F.
During the operation, Kamoga was caught advising undercover officers, who were posing as potential buyers, to alter the number plate once they had acquired the vehicle.
Both suspects, along with the stolen vehicles, are currently being held at Hoima Central Police Station as investigations continue.
The arrests highlight ongoing efforts by the Uganda Police Flying Squad to tackle vehicle theft in the region, with the police urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
