He also urged Kingdom subjects to prioritize education by ensuring that children return to school when the first academic term begins next week.

Masindi: The Bunyoro Kingdom Prime Minister, Andrew Byakutaga, has called on Kingdom Chiefs in Masindi Municipality to mobilize and encourage community members to embrace coffee growing and government programs aimed at improving household incomes.

Byakutaga’s message was delivered by Owek. Robert Rukahemura, the Social Affairs Officer at Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom, during an induction and planning meeting for Kingdom Chiefs in Masindi Municipality.

The meeting, held at the Municipal Chambers on Tuesday, brought together over 30 Kingdom Chiefs from various wards, parishes, divisions, sub-counties, town councils, and the Municipality.

Byakutaga also urged Kingdom subjects to prioritize education by ensuring that children return to school when the first academic term begins next week.

Rukahemura explained that the purpose of the induction meeting was to equip Kingdom Chiefs with knowledge about their roles in safeguarding and promoting Kingdom historical sites, preserving cultural norms, and sensitizing communities about both Kingdom and government initiatives.

Abdallah Sserunkuma, the Kingdom Chief in charge of Masindi Municipality, highlighted that the meeting was organized to orient and train Kingdom Chiefs at all levels, enabling them to effectively promote and protect Kingdom sites and activities.

Participants, including Charles Mwesigwa, the Kikwanana Ward Chief, and Fatumah Kabasomi from Katama Cell, expressed confidence in their ability to execute their duties following the training.
