22 babies born on Christmas Day in Masindi, Kagadi
All the newborns and their mothers from these facilities were reported to be in good health and are now awaiting discharge.
National: Christmas Day brought joy to families in Masindi and Kagadi districts as 22 babies were delivered at Masindi General Hospital, Kagadi General Hospital and Mabaale Health Centre III in Mabaale Town Council Kagadi district.
At Masindi main hospital, 11 babies were successfully delivered on Christmas Day.
According to Dr. Rogers Musinguzi, the Medical Superintendent, the deliveries included eight boys and three girls, with eight normal deliveries and three caesarean sections.
Dr. Musinguzi encouraged expectant mothers to seek hospital care during childbirth, emphasizing the benefits of professional medical support.
In Kagadi General Hospital, eleven newborns also arrived on Christmas Day, comprising six girls and five boys, as confirmed by senior midwife Stella Tuhaise.
Tuhaise highlighted the significance of antenatal care for pregnant women, noting that regular prenatal check-ups play a vital role in ensuring smoother and safer deliveries.
“Proper prenatal care ensures that vital records are followed throughout pregnancy, easing the birthing process,” she said.
At Mabaale Health Centre III in Mabaale Town Council, four babies were delivered on Christmas, including three girls and one boy, midwife Mary Atulinda reported.
Atulinda called on men to actively support their wives during pregnancy, emphasizing the importance of proper nutrition and care to ensure the birth of healthy babies.
