12 arrested for marijuana possession in Arua

Arua: Police in Arua City are holding 12 suspected criminals who were found in possession of marijuana and housebreaking implements.
The suspects were arrested during an intelligence-led operation conducted by police and sister forces in the areas of Ediofe, Ochiba Coast, and Kirabu, all in Arua City.
The operation was conducted on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
Josephine Angucia, the West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson, told this publication that a case file has been opened against the suspects for investigation.
According to Angucia, upon sanctioning their file by the resident state attorney in Arua City, they will be produced before court to answer the charges preferred.
The police officer said that operations will continue until cases of thefts and robberies of phones, wallets, bags, and other acts of criminality in Arua City are minimized.
On the 22nd of this month, security arrested 78 suspected criminals, and 20 numberless motorcycles and numerous rolls of marijuana were recovered in Arua City.
