Pader: Police in Pader District are investigating the sudden death of 40-year-old Anying Doreen, a resident of Kiteny East Village, Acoro Parish in Pader Town Council.
According to IP Oloya Joe, the Aswa East Regional Police Spokesperson, the incident occurred on Sunday and was reported to the authorities the same day.
IP Oloya stated that Anying’s death occurred under unclear circumstances.
It is alleged that on the evening of Saturday Anying left her home to go drinking and returned around 11:00 PM.
Upon her return, she found her husband, Odong Joseph, already asleep. She knocked on the door, but he refused to open it, prompting her to spend the night with her mother-in-law, Aceng Mariana.
The following morning, 4th April, Aceng found Doreen unresponsive. In an attempt to revive her, Aceng called for help and tried to feed her porridge, but by around 1:00 PM, Doreen was confirmed dead.
IP Oloya confirmed that the case has been filed at Pader Central Police Station as a sudden death inquiry. The crime scene has been visited and documented, and investigations are ongoing, pending an autopsy.
The deceased’s husband, Odong Joseph, has been arrested to assist with the investigation.
