VIDEO: South Sudan bound bus catches fire in Masindi
It was en route to Kampala at the time of the incident.
Masindi: A South Sudan’s safari bus has caught fire along the Masindi-Kichumbanyobo road en route to Uganda’s capital, Kampala.
The incident happened Monday July 1, 2024 at around 9 a.m. at Murchison Fall National Park’s Kichumbanyobo Gate in Kigarara Village, Buruli Constituency, Masindi district.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, has confirmed the incident, saying the bus registration number 6887AK 05 was en route to Kampala at the time of the incident.
According to Hakiza, the bus tires heated, which resulted in the fire outbreak, but one casualty was registered.
The police mouthpiece asserted that the fire brigade rushed to the scene and put out the fire.
The incident happened after Congo-bound friends bus registration number UBL 996N caught fire in Ntungamo district, Western Uganda.
The bus was en route to Congo from Kampala City.
