URSB revokes constitution registration for Acholi’s rival

The election saw Rwot Peko John Lugayi of Pajule-Palwo elected as the Speaker, deputized by Rwot George Nyeko of Lokung Chiefdom.

Kampala:

The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has revoked the registration of the Ker Kwaro Acholi constitution for Apire’s faction.

This action was taken in response to concerns raised by the faction led by Rwot Apire Richard Santo.

According to Ms. Tugumisirize Marion, signing on behalf of the URSB Registrar General, the constitution was deemed misleading, inaccurate, and containing illegal endorsements.

Interestingly, these issues were not initially flagged during the registration process.

As a result, the constitution governing the cultural institution is set to be expunged in accordance with Section 13 of the Registration of Documents Act, Cap. 81.
