URDT establishes man-made lake in Kagadi to boost tourism

This is a significant step towards promoting tourism in Kagadi district and contributing to the growth of the community.

Kagadi: The Uganda Rural Development and Training Program (URDT) has embarked on an exciting project to create a man-made lake in Kagadi district, aimed at promoting tourism in the area.

According to Dr. Mwalimu Musheshe, Executive Director of URDT, who doubles as the vice chancellor of an African rural university, this initiative follows the Ministry of Tourism’s selection of URDT as a tourism site.

Recently, the URDT family gathered at the site, armed with tools and enthusiasm, to participate in the creation of the man-made slake.

This innovative project is expected to attract tourists and boost the local economy.

Dr. Musheshe expressed his excitement about the project, stating that they are thrilled to establish this man-made lake, which will not only enhance the beauty of their surroundings but also provide a unique tourist attraction.

This is a significant step towards promoting tourism in Kagadi district and contributing to the growth of the community.

Mwalimu says the creation of the man-made lake is a testament to URDT’s commitment to sustainable development and tourism promotion.

He says the organization has been at the forefront of rural development initiatives in Uganda, empowering communities and transforming lives.

Annet Kabasiita, Director of Finance and Administration of the Uganda Rural Development and Training Programme (URDT), says the man-made lake at URDT will be commissioned at the end of this month.
