He is now compiling a "wish list" of qualified Bamasaaba for possible consideration in government opportunities.

Mbale: His Highness Umukuka III Jude Mike Mudoma has briefed clan chairmen from across Bugisu Region on his recent discussions with President Museveni, during which the President reportedly pledged to fulfil several key requests presented by the Bamasaaba cultural institution.
According to the cultural institution’s spokesperson, Hon. Steven Masiga, the Umukuka convened all clan chairmen to update them on the outcomes of his meeting with the Head of State.
He said the cultural leadership has a responsibility to ensure that any information or support from government destined for the Bamasaaba people is communicated directly to community leaders.
Hon. Masiga revealed that the President made specific commitments to the clan chairmen, and the Umukuka assured them that these commitments were being followed up for implementation.
Last week, His Highness the Umukuka, accompanied by Her Royal Highness Annet Mudoma, the Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Dr. Paul Mwambu, and spokesperson Hon. Masiga, presented several concerns of the Bamasaaba community to the President. These included: establishment of a public university in the Bugisu region, employment opportunities for Bamasaaba people, political and technical appointments for qualified Bamasaaba.
Others are low-cost housing for workers at the Chinese Industrial Park, elevation of selected health centres to district hospital status and additional requests from the cultural institution and clan chairmen.
Hon. Masiga stated that the President approved all the proposals, prompting the Umukuka to begin follow-up actions, including writing official letters and submitting recommended names for appointments and deployments.
The Umukuka emphasized to the President that the people of Bugisu need greater access to employment at the national level. He is now compiling a “wish list” of qualified Bamasaaba for possible consideration in government opportunities.
His Highness briefed the clan chairmen on Saturday during an HIV dissemination meeting held at Mbale Courts View Hotel. The chairmen reportedly welcomed the President’s commitments with ululation and appreciation, pledging to mobilize the Bamasaaba community to participate fully in government programmes.
