Op-Ed

Uganda the pearl of Africa Vs Youth marching to parliament

Although our challenges look peculiar, the spectrum of resolving them are different.

Op-Ed: Every life of Ugandans matters! Therefore, we say NO to protests and demonstrations on July 23, 2024 of any form that isn’t well regulated by the state of Uganda.

We say NO to foreign influences of doing things.

We say NO to copycat ideology of foreign influence to destroy our well built heritage!

We say NO to loss of property. We have gotten out of our sweat just because we took part in protests or demonstrations!

We say NO to the loss of lives of loved ones, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, OBs, OGs, cousins, nephews, in laws and friends.

Although our challenges look peculiar, the spectrum of resolving them are different.

Our modalities of handling our own challenges still demand a platform for dialogue ! We can achieve better results out of dialogue than losing lives or getting injured on the streets without knowing who has hurt you because everything is done at random , haphazardly and without knowing your target !

We say NO to corruption as  Ugandan freedom fighters but using better fora that can bring our leaders to a round table dialogue with well defined methods and practical solutions!

We say NO to those who might wish to guide us to go fight with the state when their relatives are out of the country!

We say NO to being used as a sword and stick to clear the way to steal more tomorrow when we would have lost friends and loved ones !

We say NO to the power brokers who want to take advantage of our Youths to innocently die on the streets!

What we shall only demonstrate/ protest  about is to vote out all these MPs of 11th parliament come 2026.

My Youth partners never accept to get out tomorrow but mobilize yourselves for massive campaigns against the corrupt come 2026. Let us not only focus on MPs but even at local levels! Our Districts and Parishes are equally doing badly under our nose.

Let us continue to engage our leaders using social media and print to account to us ! Corruption is all about abuse of democracy, good governance and abuse of fundamental human rights.

We say NO to protests and demonstrations on the pearl of Africa!

We call for peace and dialogue always to our problems. We can do better than encouraging violence as a method of curbing or preventing the cancer of corruption! We can advocate and use better methods of treatment.

We say NO to any form of confrontation with security as a means of fighting corruption and think it’s the way to challenges.

Therefore, this peace we enjoy had a price tag on its way up and down!

We should guard it jealously!

We say NO to outsiders who have infiltrated the country to burn down our buildings and hard earned property!

We say NO to groups that would want to generate uprising on the pearl of Africa Uganda!

Uganda is an epitome of peace and dialogue!

Corruption is all over the world, and it’s happening in our daily lives, in all our societies families and with us, we must reject it jealously using every right and meaningful method that will not again risk our lives that is already being eaten by corruption itself.

Together let’s keep talking, talking and talking but using all forms that may not put our lives in danger!

We are all victims of corruption but we must not lose grip on a risky undertaking just because we need immediate results! Sometimes our expectations take time to achieve what we want!

Leaders come and go ! These leaders will go…let them leave us alive to give testimony to the future generations!

We say NO to protests, demonstrations, and corruption!

We say NO to evil leaders !

We say NO to the Gen Z group on the pearl of Africa !

We are epitome of peace makers as the pearl of Africa!

We are the third in hosting refugees all over the world! Store keepers of peace !

Lastly, the Minister of Youths and Children Affairs Hon. Dr. Balamu has offered a conducive platform for any group to hand in any memo or literature to him at Kololo Ceremonial grounds tomorrow. That shall be the starting point of our dialogue and he will guide us on how to chat a way forward.

Again that shall only be done by a few representatives according to his media statements and video going round on social media.

Please never take any part in unauthorized activity but get to your work place for your daily hustle since your family needs your support .

Together we say NO to protests and demonstrations!

Every Ugandan life is precious before God/ Allah.
