Two suspected motorcycle thieves lynched in Kagadi

Kagadi: Angry motorists in Kambugu village, Kicucura Sub County, Kagadi district, have lynched two suspected motorcycle thieves.
The deceased have not been identified; however, the third suspect, who was arrested in Kikwaya Sub County Kakumiro district after escaping from angry motorists, was identified as Martin Alinaitwe, a resident of Hoima City.
The duo was lynched in the wee hours of Friday morning on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle registration number, UFN 290L.
According to information obtained by this news portal, the motorcycle was stolen from WATU Africa.
During interrogation by security officers, Alinaitwe admitted being part of the lynched thugs but could not reveal their identities.
Alinaitwe is being held at the Kagadi central police station, and the bodies of the deceased have been taken to the Kagadi hospital mortuary for a postmortem.
John Kwefaho, the chairperson of Kambugu village, and other local leaders disclosed that cases of motorcycle theft are rampant in their area.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine police mouthpiece, confirmed the incident and said that the stolen motorcycle was recovered, and it’s parked at the Kagadi central police yard as inquiries continue.
