Time up; pack your items and go, UPC leadership tells government
He says some of the projects in the district are for the benefit of few individuals, not the locals of Madi.
Arua: The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) leaders in West Nile have started laying strategies on how they will win the 2026 general elections from president to LC1s across the country.
The leaders who met in Arua city at the Joas Inn resort in Oreku, Ayivu East Constituency, say their aim of the meeting was to lay strategies, cause change in Uganda, and propel development in the UPC way.
Speaking to the media, Collins Ubedling, the UPC coordinator, said that it is high time the NRM government rest and the UPC take over since they have failed to fulfill the promises they have made to people.
He says that during the Obote regime, infrastructure was developed without reminding the president, which is contrary to what is happening today.
Ubedling says the people of Nebbi have asked for the road connecting from Goli to Zombo up to Vurra, and it has become a song, yet UPC did this in five years of its regime.
He rallied all the people of Greater Nebbi to join together and vote for UPC leaders in the coming general elections.
John Abuko , the UPC coordinator for Madi Okollo and greater, says the people of Madi Okollo have been marginalized beyond recognition.
He says some of the projects in the district are for the benefit of few individuals, not the locals of Madi.
Abukosays the UPC had constructed roads like the great Ajai roads, which no longer exist.
He rallied the people of Madi to rally behind the UPC to regain the lost glory and equal distribution of resources in the country.
Alaru Muzamil Kujo, the UPC chairman of the Arua Central Division, says the government properties that UPC preserved for the future have been privatized and others no longer exist.
He urged the people of Westnile to rally behind UPC candidates who will be identified so that they can restore the lost glory.
David Drileyo, the coordinator for Greater Arua, says the government has failed to fulfill the promises it has made to the people of Uganda.
He says those supposed to be compensated, especially Westnile, are busy dying without receiving the compensation.
Drileyo says most of the infrastructure in Uganda was constructed during the government of UPC.
The Uganda People’s Congress ruled Uganda from 1966 to 1971 and again from 1980 to 1985.
