Tamale Mirundi’s baptism names revealed, burial program released

Kampala: A renowned political analyst and former presidential press secretary, Tamale Mirundi, died on Tuesday night, August 13, 2024, at Kisubi Hospital off Entebbe Road, according to family members.

Saleh Mirundi, the deceased’s elder brother, discloses that Joseph Tamale Mirundi was baptized as Blasio Tamale. ‘’ Time came, and he adapted Joseph because the Joseph in the Bible was a hardworking man. Later, he added the family name Mirundi.

According to Saleh, Tamale ended up abandoning his baptismal names and adapted Joseph Tamale Mirundi. ‘’He abandoned his baptism names and adapted Joseph Tamale Mirundi.’’

Saleh narrates that his brother was a cool man, but the nature of the job made him controversial.

Burial program released

According to the burial program released by Haji Faruk Kirunda, the Deputy Press Secretary to H.E. the President, the former Senior Presidential Press Secretary, Joseph Tamale Mirundi, will be laid to rest on Sunday, August 18, 2024.

Mr. Mirundi passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, between 11 p.m. and midnight from Kisubi Hospital, where he had been hospitalized for over a month.

According to Haji Kirunda, there will be a vigil and mass at the deceased’s Zana residence on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

“On Thursday, August 15, 2024, there will be a requiem mass at St. Gyaviira Catholic Church Bunamwaya at 10:00 a.m., then the body taken to Zana Residence for an overnight vigil,” he said.

“And on Friday, August 16th, the body will be taken to Kyengera Residence for Mass at 10:00 a.m. and an overnight vigil.”

On Saturday, August 17, 2024, the body will leave for Kalagala Village in Kaliisizo, Kyotera District, for vigil.

“The burial ceremony will start at 10:00 a.m. at Kalagala Village, Kaliisizo in Kyotera District, on Sunday, August 18, 2024.”
