St. Catherine house emerged champions of MDD competition

Bukedea: Students of St. Catherine house in Bukedea comprehensive school in Bukedea district have emerged the champions of music dance and drummer competition 2024.
The competition took place on Saturday 6th, July 2024 at the school premises.
A total of six houses competed.
Mr. Johan Ekisa, the senior adjudicator said the competition was focused on school anthem, poetry, speech and traditional dance.
He said out of the performance, St. Julian house scored 372 marks, St. Jude 357, St. Michael 392, St. Paul 394, St. Thereza 380 and St. Catherine 395 marks.
Mr. Ekisa therefore declared St. Catherine as a winner after scoring 395 marks.
Mr. John Robert Omunyokol, St. Catherine house patron says the house emerged a champion as a result of cooperation and team work.
“We never expected this win because even our count parts were doing well”, said Mr. Omunyokol.
Jonas Gumiziriza, the school managing director told this website that the implementation of Music dance and drumer is to help a school to discover and explore student’s talents.
He said most of the school activities such as football, netball and athletics, few students are enrolled because of its limitations.
“We witnessed that DMM houses most of the students and many talents were exposed”, said Mr. Gumiziriza.
Mr. Gumiziriza also added that the winning house was rewarded with a bull and the second house received a goat.
However, Banabath Edeu together with the winning students applaud for the win.
