Katakwi: Five schools in Akoboi Sub County in Katakwi district have received a bright boost to education, thanks to solar-powered lights installed by the Kazi ni Kazi Foundation.
Dan Mulalu, Foundation Director and Private Secretary to the President for Political Mobilization, aims to improve performance through remedial classes.
Benefiting schools include Alukucok Primary, Akoboi, Lalei, Aterai, and St. Joseph’s Primary.
Rose Asio, Alukucok’s headteacher, expressed gratitude to Mulalu, saying the solar system will enhance teacher engagement and performance, especially for P.6 and P.7 classes.
Mulalu’s initiative demonstrates his commitment to education and community development, Asio said.
The solar-powered lights will provide a conducive learning environment, promoting academic excellence.
With this support, Akoboi Sub County schools are poised for a brighter future.
Learners pledged to focus on education, thanking Mulalu for ensuring improved standards in Katakwi District.
John Francis Okalang Tembo, Solar Installation Program Manager, urged the community to take ownership of the equipment, ensuring its 15-year lifespan.
