Six arrested over robbery in four districts

Kakumiro: Police in Kakumiro district have arrested and detained six suspects following the operation made regarding the rampant robbery in Igayaza and Kakumiro districts.
The suspects are Moses Rutaba Bright, who was arrested from Rakai; Lusiaba, who was arrested from Mubende; Patrick, alias Patu; Nsengima, alias Senga; Andrew Mutale, alias Kakato Olaba; and the sixth one, who was arrested on Monday in Kyankwanzi district.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, revealed that the above suspects are the ones behind the robberies in Kakumiro and the use of toy guns, sticks, and knives, among others.
Hakiza told this publication that the above suspects were arrested in the intelligence-led operation, and they are currently detained at Kakumiro Central Police Station, waiting to appear before the court.
Hakiza says the suspects normally rob mobile money dealers, shops, and hardware shops and steal in the districts of Kakumiro, Kyankwanzi, Mubende, and Kiboga.

Bangirana was robed when he had just reached home from his hardware shop.
Upon Bangirana reaching home while entering the garage, two armed men, one with a panga and sticks and another with a suspected gun, emerged from a nearby farm belonging to the victim and put him at gunpoint, asking him for money.
He lost 500,000 shillings, and upon his alarm, the suspects fled the place.
