Security recover 74 stolen cattle from suspected rustlers in Kitgum
Reports indicate that the rustlers intended to release him later that night after interrogating him about the location of security forces in the area.

Kitgum: Security forces in Kitgum District have successfully recovered 74 cattle from suspected rustlers in Namokora North Subcounty.
The operation was confirmed by Mr. Oguti Geoffrey, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Chua East.
According to Commissioner Oguti, the suspected rustlers believed to be a group of four abducted a local resident, identified as Aboda Charles, from Lagot Alima Village, Onyala Parish.
The abduction took place around 3:00 PM when four armed men, dressed in civilian clothes and black gumboots, seized Charles.
Reports indicate that the rustlers intended to release him later that night after interrogating him about the location of security forces in the area.
Charles informed them that soldiers were stationed in Mucwini and Orom.
Oguti further revealed that while one of the rustlers spoke Acholi, the others did not speak Luo, leading security officials to suspect they might be Sudanese or Karimojong cattle raiders.
Charles was held captive in the Ajut Olam Valley area, within the Amaramara region of Namokora North, but was later rescued by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) at Onyala Detach under the command of Cpl. Moses Kirinde Timothy.
Security personnel recovered 15 cattle earlier the same day from a nearby bush.
All 74 recovered cattle are currently secured at the Onyala Detach.
The operation highlights the ongoing efforts by Kitgum security forces to combat cattle rustling and ensure the safety of local communities.
