Security guard arrested for defiling 8-year-old at orphanage
The suspect had held himself as a trusted protector of the orphans since 2023 but betrayed that trust by harming them sexually and physically.
Kamuli: The police in Busoga North and Kamuli Central Police Station have in custody a local security guard over the aggravated defilement of an 8-year-old child.
Fred Enanga, the Uganda Police Spokesperson, has identified the suspect as Kizito Imulani, aged 40, who was working as a security guard at Master Children Ministries and Orphanage in Kamuli Municipality.
Enanga says that the suspect is detained for aggravated defilement of an 8-year-old female orphan and indecent assault of two others, aged 8 and 10.
Kizito committed the crimes during the month of May 2024, and he was employed in 2023 to guard the premises and its occupants.
Enanga adds that it was established from the three girl victims that the suspect would inappropriately touch their body parts and also lure them sexually.
The victims were medically examined, and one of them had proof of sexual abuse. Enanga applauded the victims for taking the courage to report the matter to their patron, despite their age.

Enanga asserts that Kizito is being charged with aggravated defilement, in addition to two other counts of indecent assault.
The arrest should serve as a deterrent to other child predators who would take advantage of vulnerable children. Adults are obligated to look after children and take care of them, but not prey on them sexually.
