SAD! One perishes in Buikwe road accident
The deceased, Boyo Ivan, a resident of Nyenga in Buikwe District, was confirmed dead at the scene.
Buikwe: Njeru Traffic Police have registered a fatal road accident that occurred on December 28, 2024, around 9:30 AM at Bulyankuyege village along the Nyenga-Katosi road in Buikwe District.
The incident involved two vehicles: a motorcycle with registration number UFJ 979E, a Bajaj Boxer, ridden by 19-year-old Boyo Ivan, and a vehicle with registration number UBC 510D, an Isuzu D-Max double cabin pickup, driven by 32-year-old Marvin Joshua Onyango.
According to SP Butoto Hellen, PRO for Ssezibwa Region, the accident occurred when Boyo Ivan, the rider of the Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, was traveling from Nyenga towards Katosi.
Upon reaching Bulyankuyege village, he stopped and offloaded his two female passengers. Suddenly, he made an abrupt U-turn, colliding with the Isuzu pickup that was also traveling in the same direction.
The deceased, Boyo Ivan, a resident of Nyenga in Buikwe District, was confirmed dead at the scene.
His body has been taken to Jinja Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem. Both vehicles are currently parked at Nyenga Police Station awaiting inspection, and investigations are ongoing.
