SAD! One dead, another injured in Kikuube accident
The driver, now deceased, was together with his turn boy.
Kikuube: One person has been confirmed dead after being involved in a road accident that occurred in Bubogo parish, Kabwoya sub-county, Kikuube district, on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased is Fahad Kisuubika Kigere, 33, a resident of Jokolera cell, Kasangati town council, Wakiso district, who was driving a Scania Trailer with registration numbers UAW289U/UAR916V.
The driver, now deceased, was together with his turn boy, Lule Nyansio, aged 26 years, carrying timber to Hoima City from Kabwoya subcounty side.
According to Kikuube District Police Commander, SP John Bosco Tumwebaze, the accident happened at 12:45 pm when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which was travelling at high speed, and crossed into the opposite side, crashing into road rail guards.
Tumwebaze confirmed Fahad Kisuubika succumbed to his injuries shortly after being rushed to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital, while the turn boy, Lule Nyansio, is currently receiving treatment at a private facility in the Kaigo trading center.
